Advanced Technology

Cone Beam CT

Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art, Carestream (formerly Kodak) limited field of view cone-beam CT (computed tomography) technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease. This allows three-dimensional visualization of teeth, bone, sinuses and surrounding structures to help decipher the most complex diagnostic situations, with minimal radiation to the patient. CBCT enables a level of anatomical accuracy and detail that leverages the diagnostic value obtained from 2-D (regular dental) images.

Digital Imaging

Northwest Endodontic Specialists PC carefully chooses the indications for dental radiology. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect pathologic changes within and around your tooth roots, evaluate bone damage resulting from pathology, and map the extent of damage after trauma.

Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely short because Northwest Endodontic Specialists PC utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, radiation is significantly less when compared to traditional radiographs.

Digital imaging can help us study valuable diagnostic information on large screens, where we can use a variety of tools to enhance diagnostic value.  Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to generalists, specialists or insurance companies.

Operating Telescopes and Surgical Microscopes

Even the most routine endodontic procedures benefit from enhanced vision, beginning with our use of operating telescopes with LED lighting that magnify the tooth 4-5 times.  When even higher magnification is needed, we have invested in the very best quality surgical microscopes, by Global Surgical Corporation, that provide abundant magnification and illumination for our endodontic procedures. Our success depends on us being able to see the minutest of details!
